About Us

The Bride

Kristin grew up in Darien, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago and "A Nice Place to Live". She went to the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois where she studied English. She spent her junior year in Verona, Italy, "studying" abroad (but mostly traveling). After college, she worked at a small law firm in Chicago for a little over a year, and then returned to Champaign for law school. Kristin graduated from law school in 2014 and is now an associate attorney at Baker & McKenzie in Chicago, practicing corporate law. Kristin likes watching "quality" reality TV, eating cheese and living in Chicago.

The Groom

Adam grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and attended U of D Jesuit High School. A lifelong Michigan fanatic, Adam attended the University of Michigan where he studied business and was a member of the super-cool Maize Rage. Next, Adam attended law school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, graduating in 2007. He then moved to Chicago, where he had accepted a position in the M&A Tax group at PwC. Adam likes watching Michigan and Detroit sports, making terrible bets, and their cat, Max.

How We Met

Kristin had just moved to Chicago and was living in the Bucktown neighborhood. Adam was out with some friends in that same neighborhood, and bumped into Kristin at a bar, where he dropped the classic line, "Hey - I'm a lawyer." Adam then very smoothly offered to buy Kristin a drink, and the rest is history.

The Engagement

Kristin loves surprises almost as much as she loves Adam's Michigan track jacket (which is not at all). So Adam sweetly "surprised" her with her maternal grandmother's engagement ring at their apartment, before taking her out for a lovely dinner. Then, Adam actually DID surprise Kristin when he brought her to a surprise engagement party with some of her closest friends. This was a good surprise.
